Gig Young's Oscar Returned to Daughter After Agent's Death

Movie icon Gig Young's 1970 Best Supporting Actor Oscar is to return to his family following the death of the actor's agent. The award was bequeathed to Young's daughter Jennifer by agent Marty Baum after years of fighting between the two over the ownership of the statue, which Young won for his part in "They Shoot Horses Don't They?".

Jennifer Young asked Baum to give up the award in 1996, insisting the Oscar should rightly be in her possession - as she was Gig Young's only child. Baum, who obtained possession of the gong after his client's 1978 suicide, claimed he has had a right to possess and display the Oscar in his office.

Young took legal action against her father's agent and the matter was settled in 1997 when Baum agreed to bequeath the Oscar to Jennifer Young upon his death. Baum died on November 5. Young tells WENN, "This Oscar is something I have been waiting for for nearly two decades."

"It also feels like it was my daddy's wish for me to have his Oscar at this time. Marty said to me in our second meeting that I was at my father's exact age when he walked through his doors and signed him on the spot! Marty and I got along very well. I was able to see him several times before he passed away." Jennifer Young is now working on a documentary and book about her famous father.

Oksana Grigorieva to Break Her Silence about The Domestic Abuse
Oksana Grigorieva

's ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva is set to break her silence about the alleged domestic abuse she suffered at the hands of the embattled actor in a candid chat with U.S. newsman , according to a new report. The former lovers are currently locked in a bitter and highly-publicized court battle as they fight for custody of their young daughter, Lucia.

Gibson hit headlines earlier this year when the Russian singer accused him of violently beating her and knocking out her teeth in an alleged altercation, while taped recordings of their bitter arguments were leaked on the internet. According to TMZ.com, Judge Scott Gordon has warned the Grigorieva going public with her story could negatively impact her custody battle.

However, the website reports Grigorieva has defied the warning by sitting down for an hour-long interview on "" on Saturday night, November 13 with one of her lawyers, Marty Garbus, to "speak out on behalf of battered women".

Reports suggest Larry King played portions of a number of the tapes Grigorieva allegedly recorded in secret, in which a man purported to be Gibson can be heard hurling insults at her. Executives at King's TV network CNN had yet to confirm a broadcast date for the interview as WENN went to press.

A Brand New Reality Likes A Crossover Between 'The Bachelor' and 'Survivor'
NBC Greenlights 'Bachelor' and 'Survivor' Crossover

It was reported sometime ago that there would be a brand new reality show which is roughly like a crossover between "" and "". NBC worked it up with Endemol to make it happen and they have just announced the details.

"" basically puts together singles in the jungle to mate. Twenty men and women will pair up each week in the middle of the jungle and each couple will be placed in remote area. Together they are only given a map and must rely on each other to pass the challenges which could either be physical or emotional.

The winning couple will then be treated to a romantic indulgence at romantic places. At the end of the day, they have the choice to continue with the partner or to switch for the next challenge. There will be an elimination in each of the episode and there will be a big prize at the end of the show. Producers confirmed that they are not gonna make the contestants starve like "Survivor".

"It's a fresh way into the dating space," NBC alternative topper Paul Telegdy revealed how people can relate to the show. "We've been intrigued by the idea of putting people in a natural setting and making them compete. Watching the show should be a great armchair ride."

Eight episodes, which would be run by "Survivor" alum Tom Shelly, have been greenlit for targeted Summer release. "Summer shows should be escapist," Telegdy said. "It should have a kind of mood that can coexist with '.' We don't want something dark or ridden with problems."
