'Tron Legacy'Enters North American Box Office with A Blast

"" enters North American Box Office with a blast. It rakes in an estimated $43.6 million on its first weekend and snatches the top spot from "" which could only secure the champ title for a week. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the movie owes it to nation's movie critics who recommended it.

The movie, which lures fans of 1982 "Tron", has 55% of the audience consisting of couples. "All the fans of the first movie are bringing a girlfriend or wife to share the experience with. But the blend of the audience will get younger," Disney worldwide president of marketing Chuck Viane says.

"", which also made its debut late last week, opens to an estimated $16.7 million, which is below the expected $20 million cume. Still, the family animation could hope for strong midweek traffic as the Christmas session gets into full swing.
